What to Do in Ottawa: Weekend Preview April 17-19

Can you believe how gorgeous the weather is today? If you can find time in your schedule between going for a nice spring walk or hanging out at the park with the kids, get out and enjoy these awesome events in Ottawa:

Live the Smart Way Expo

Award-winning nutritionist Kathy Smart presents this expo about living smart, eating smart, and moving smart. Whether you want some tips to step up your health game or you’re ready to transform your life, the Live the Smart Way Expo has everything. This one-stop health and wellness show has something for everyone. Even better, tickets are FREE when ordered online ($10) at the door. The expo takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the Shaw Centre in downtown Ottawa.

Ottawa Fury Home Opener

Ottawa Fury FC have opened up the 2015 Spring Season with a draw and a loss on the road. Can they balance out their record with a home win on Saturday afternoon against Minnesota United? The crowd should be raucous on a beautiful spring afternoon at Lansdowne Park. Captain Richie Ryan is nearing full health, but he likely won’t be able to dress for the home opener. The Fury will look to get their offense rolling and finally get in the win column. Tickets are just $17, so come out and root for the home team.

Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show

Are you looking to spruce up your spring wardrobe? There’s no better place to start than at the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show at the Shaw Centre. At Canada’s largest clothing event, you can find stylish clothes from any era – the roaring 20s, the mod 60s, or the retro 80s. Shop for vintage clothing, jewellery, and all the hottest fashion accessories. Admission is $10, while children under 12 are free.  You never know what you’ll find.

Ottawa Senators versus Montreal Canadiens

At the time of writing, we don’t know whether the Senators will come back to town down 2-0 or tied in their first round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens. All we know is that the crowd will be absolutely wild as the Senators host their first playoff game since 2013. If you weren’t one of the lucky few to snap up tickets, don’t worry. Pubs and restaurants across the city will be great places to watch the epic showdown. Get your car flags out, don your jerseys, and let’s get excited!

We hope everyone has a great weekend!
