What to Do in Ottawa: Weekend Preview August 28-30

The final weekend of August is upon us! Don’t let it go to waste – check out some of these awesome events happening around the city this weekend:

Ottawa Craft Beer Festival

Lansdowne Park is the place to be this weekend. The Ottawa Craft Beer Festival runs all weekend and features 40 craft breweries from all around the region. In addition to more than 150 craft beers on offer, there will also be European imported beers, local ciders, local wine, tasty foods from Ottawa’s best eateries, and live entertainment. Day passes are $15 in advance and $20 at the door ($30/$35 for a 3-day festival pass), plus HST. This is a 19+ event and guests are encouraged to walk, bike, or take the bus to attend the event.

Palestinian Festival Ottawa

Head down to Marion Dewar Plaza at Ottawa City Hall this weekend to celebrate the second annual Palestinian Festival of Ottawa. This FREE event is a celebration of Palestinian culture and Canadian diversity. Come explore the music, cuisine, language, dance, and fashion of Palestinians. This family-friendly adult promises to be fun for people of all ages.

Savour Ottawa Harvest Table

The Ottawa region is home to many bountiful farms, tasty natural foods, and talented local chefs. Come get a sample of it all at Savour Ottawa‘s annual Harvest Table, taking place at the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park on Saturday afternoon. Featured local restaurants include The Albion Rooms, Thyme and Again, The Red Apron, and Fairmont Château Laurier. Local procedures like Bryson Farm, Fromagerie Les Folies Bergères, and Heavenly Honey will offer fresh food. Tickets are $75 each and include one ticket to the lunch and two drink tickets.

Ottawa Fury FC versus Tampa Bay Rowdies

Ottawa Fury play host to the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday evening at TD Place. Despite a very strong start to the fall season, the Fury have stumbled of late, registering a 2-1 loss to Minnesota United and recording a 0-0 draw against the New York Cosmos. Ottawa looks to return to the winning column in front of their hometown fans,  so come cheer them on!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
