The Radio Show: Christmas Classics

Playing all weekend at the Gladstone Theatre, the Radio Show is a heartwarming song and dance show with seasonal fun for the whole family. With shows on Friday and Saturday nights and Saturday and Sunday afternoons, there is a time slot for everyone to catching this night of “vintage fun.” Hear live re-tellings of “The Gift of the Magi,” “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and “The Little Prince,” among others. With carols and plenty of opportunities to join in the holiday fun with singalongs, the Radio Show is sure to entertain and get you in the festive mood.

Flavours of Ottawa: Holiday Market

Check out our featured article on this tasty event. A diverse group of 24 of Ottawa’s celebrated food artisans will be selling their products including, cake pops, macarons, cookies, pies, tortieres, teas, jams, chutneys, salsas, chocolates, honey, salad dressings and gluten free baked goods. It’s a one-stop-shop for all your holiday entertaining and gift giving needs. Admission to the holiday food markets is free, but donations are welcome for the Parkdale Food Centre. This event is organized by the Ottawa Specialty Food Association (OSFA) founded early in 2012.  So if you only make it out to one holiday fair this season, why not come and support Ottawa’s local artisan food vendors at Flavours of Ottawa: Westboro on Saturday.

La Magie de Disney (The Magic of Disney)

The Gatineau Symphony Orchestra presents this beautiful medley of Disney classics. With two different shows playing on Saturday at the Salle Odyssée in Gatineau, this opportunity to relive your childhood or introduce youngsters to some Disney classics beyond Frozen makes a great early Christmas gift. The orchestra will perform interpretations from iconic films like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas and The Lion King, among many others. The presentation is in French, but the orchestral music transcends any language.

Disney Live! Mickey Music Festival

If one day of Disney performances doesn’t fulfill your entertainment quota…you’re in luck! Disney Live! comes to Canadian Tire Centre this Sunday, with three different show times. Mickey and his friends Minnie, Donald, and Goofy form a band and take on some of your favourite Disney songs from AladdinToy Story, and The Little Mermaid, but with some cool genre twists. The kids will be absolutely transfixed as their favourite characters come to life right before their eyes.

Originals Ottawa Christmas Craft Sale

It wouldn’t be a December weekend in Ottawa without an awesome and creative craft sale, and fortunately the EY Centre is hosting a big one. The Original Christmas Craft Sale runs daily until December 21st, giving you plenty of opportunity to fit shopping for a unique gift items into your schedule. Please note that the sale is CLOSED on Monday, December 15th.
